Helping Afghan Refugees
Ruth’s Refuge has always served Afghan families, and we are working hard to prepare for a large amount of new arrivals. In the last couple of weeks we've helped an Afghan family of 3 find permanent housing and provided a bunk bed and bedding to an Afghan family that took in their niece that was separated from her family when leaving Afghanistan. We are ramping up for many more arrivals.
There are many ways to help.
1. Make a financial contribution. ruthsrefuge.org/donate
We need funds to obtain more storage space, pay for trucks and movers, as we respond to the increased demand.
2. Purchase from one of our wishlists

3. Volunteer
All in person volunteers must be fully vaccinated. We have a particular need for volunteers who can lift and carry and be part of our volunteer apartment set up crews. We also need drivers. We can only accept volunteers who have a desire to help all refugees, regardless of what country they originate from. In person volunteers must be 18 years or older to volunteer independently. Volunteers who are 16 and up can volunteer with an accompanying adult. People of all ages can hold drives or help with other behind the scenes work. If interested, please fill out our application form.
